There are certain times in life when the only thing you can do is draw a date that’s about to suck on a crack pipe. In my life, this is one of those times.
Ya see…I’m getting married this fall, and what I’ve been hearing over and over from the financiers of the shindig, is that the shindig needs to be pulled off on a relatively tight budget. That said….when I was told we needed to select a Save the Date card to send out to people (the vast majority of whom already know the date) in advance of sending out the actual invitations…I suggested that that idea seemed redundant and that that money might be better spent elsewhere (remember…budget). That suggestion was met with stares usually reserved for those with multiple heads or missing limbs (odd that that would be the same look).
I found this frustrating (which seems to be how I find all things wedding) but I tore a page from the Eugene Hutz playbook and chose to “turn frustration into inspiration.” The result was this collection of potential save the date cards…which may (but probably won’t) end up in your mail box in the coming weeks.
Abandon all logic…there’s a wedding a comin!
Cheers,
Mike
